Water Revolution Foundation Introduces Code of Conduct

What better way to kick off the decade of sustainability in yachting than aligning with the United Nations' international 2030 agenda for their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? To start this crucial decade, Water Revolution Foundation is proud to launch the very first industry-wide Code of Conduct.

As part of its mission to drive sustainability in the superyacht industry through collaboration and innovation, Water Revolution Foundation has developed a Code of Conduct made up of 10 commitments for companies to sign up to. It reinforces the collective approach while emphasising the individual responsibility and major influence that each company has.

The first opportunity to physically sign this Code of Conduct will be at the upcoming Boat International Superyacht Design Festival in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy from 2 to 4 February, bringing together the leading designers and builders of the superyacht industry. There will be further opportunities to sign at other upcoming industry events, including the Dubai International Boat Show, Monaco Ocean Week and Superyacht Design Forum.

Water Revolution Foundation firmly believes that this is the right start to what is set to be a crucial decade for the planet and humankind, and superyachting is certainly no exception to this. In fact, the industry a strategic position to take the lead.

The foundation started from within the superyacht industry, having its best interests at heart yet urging that same industry to take action and responsibility in significantly reducing its environmental impact. Since then it has been helping by providing the industry with both a platform to cooperate and tools to accelerate change. Examples include its recently launched Yacht Assessment Tool and sustainability-in-practice management courses, as well as its planned database of sustainable solutions.

OnboardOnline encourages the entire industry to join this exciting journey and collaborate through Water Revolution Foundation to accelerate this much-needed change together.
