Meet the Team

Sam Watson: CEO & Editor
Graduating in psychology, Sam has over 30 years' experience in sales and marketing across a range of sectors and speaks fluent French. After working for a pioneering online charter brokerage, in 2012 she applied her digital marketing skills to the creation of OnboardOnline, an industry platform for superyacht professionals at sea and ashore. Over the past 10 years, Sam has evolved the business to offer content creation in a range of formats, as well as promotional campaigns and consultancy for new and established brands.

Naomi Chadderton: Managing Editor
With over 10 years’ experience as a luxury lifestyle journalist, Naomi started her career in Dubai where she worked across a number of women’s online and print publications. In 2017 she dipped her toes into the PR world working with a range of luxury lifestyle brands. As well as writing, Naomi manages the content schedule across both platforms and assists with a range of client campaigns.

Karen Hockney: Contributing Editor
Karen is an experienced author and journalist writing for UK national newspapers and magazines, including The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail, You Magazine and Hello. Based on the Cote d’Azur, Karen is a longstanding contributor to OnboardOnline covering travel, destinations, health and wellbeing, as well as conducting interviews with industry players and leaders at the forefront of ocean conservation.

Rachel has been covering the global luxury industry for more than a decade. Based in London and formerly Dubai, she has held senior editorial positions at publications across the EMEA region. She is a regular contributor to OnboardOnline and Superyacht Stories and enjoys writing about the influencers, innovations and issues driving the yachting industry.

Richard Hagan: Contributor
Richard is a freelance writer born and based in Cape Town, South Africa and specialises in writing for the superyachting, boating and marine industries. He has a passion for conversational writing that is fun, readable and relatable. A regular contributor to OnboardOnline, Richard supports client campaigns for boat builders, product manufacturers, resellers and technology firms.

Georgia Tindale - Contributor
Georgia is a freelance writer, editor, journalist and podcast co-host. Co-founder and Arts Editor at the international online and print magazine Porridge, Georgia writes for a range of publications, primarily across the maritime and luxury spheres. When she is not writing, she tends to be listening to podcasts on her other love, counselling and psychotherapy, and is currently training through a postgraduate diploma at the University of Cumbria to become a qualified practitioner.

Peter Franklin - Contributor
Peter’s entire life has revolved around the marine world. Born into a family of Thames Watermen and qualified as a Shipwright, he pursued a career in marine technical management before becoming publisher/editor of Islander boating magazine and later Sustainability Content Provider for METSTRADE in Amsterdam. Based in the Netherlands, Peter spends summers on board his motor yacht, and continues to pursue his lifelong passion for ocean conservation.

Dawn Lloyd: Graphic Design
After graduating with an arts degree, Dawn worked in the advertising industry for many years, encompassing marketing, public relations, event management and corporate identity disciplines. Her expertise lies in graphic design, with an eye for detail and a creative flair that results in a modern and professional look to her work. In addition, as part of her remit for OnboardOnline, she oversees print production for our range of large format books and charter annuals.
