YPI Joins Efforts To Protect The Mediterranean Monk Seal

Yachting Partners International (YPI) has announced their donation to the Monk Seal Alliance, founded by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Dedicated to delivering the conservation of the Mediterranean monk seal through a long term program of region-wide education, awareness raising and collaborative projects, the Alliance is the latest in YPI’s support for sustainability initiatives within local communities.

The Alliance performs a critical role in coordinating efforts and facilitating projects addressing the negative implications of fishing and tourism while protecting the species and its habitats. Through its substantial donation and role as an Ambassador, YPI will actively champion the Monk Seal Alliance’s upcoming campaigns and continue to work as part of Monaco’s active community, seeking out ways to protect its environment and marine life.

Abdullah Nahar, Director at YPI, said: “The YPI team is delighted to be Ambassadors for the Monk Seal Alliance and continue our support to the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The preservation of marine life and its ecosystems is essential. As a yachting house that has been based in the South of France since 1972, we feel passionately about protecting the ocean for generations to come and giving back to the community in which we are based. This is just the beginning of our support for the Alliance and we look forward to what we can accomplish together over the coming years.”

The Monk Seal Alliance is one of the initiatives that will benefit from the proceeds of this year’s Monte Carlo Gala for Planetary Health, taking place on September 24th 2020.
