Yacht Club de Monaco and LH Introduce New Interior Crew Training Programme

Yacht Club de Monaco and Luxury Hospitality are thrilled to announce their first collaborative leadership training programme.

"This is our first collaboration with a yacht club and we are looking forward to working in the most prestigious yacht club in the world," says Erik Smit, LH operations director. "Our goal is to expand the current offering of La Belle Classe Academy and hopefully deliver training on board their members’ yachts."

This GUEST accredited four day course will utilise LH’s unique 360 approach to develop, coach and mentor individuals and entire departments to unleash talent and potential, delivering it in association with YCM’s La Belle Classe Academy, which offers owners and yachting professionals a forum for communication and discussion.

The new leadership course will offer students an insight into their natural talents via the LH Dynamics report as well as focusing on communications strategies to support crew and reduce areas of conflict, raise cultural awareness, improve teamwork and develop effective leadership skills to create cohesive and efficient management on board.

All students will receive a GUEST Unit 17 Leadership Foundations and LH certificate upon completion of the course, which is delivered in-person at the prestigious and world-leading Yacht Club de Monaco on Quai Louis II in the principality.

"We are used to running courses for individuals in the Netherlands and have used beautiful mansions for that in the past. However, bringing this to a yacht club means that crew on board yachts in port can now join us without the need to travel."

Established in 2015, YCM created La Belle Classe Academy to help equip a future generation of yachting professionals with relevant skills and know-how as part of its public service remit and its ‘Monaco Capital of Yachting’ initiative.

The collaboration appealed to YCM and La Belle Classe, who noted the continuous increase in service standards on superyachts cruising our oceans. Yacht Club de Monaco has 2,500 members, including over 800 superyacht owners, and represents the most renowned and exclusive destination for state-of-the-art service and quality.

"La Belle Classe Academy is delighted to join forces with LH, who are no doubt the best on the market, to create this new and innovative interior crew training programme," says YCM’s Carmel Van Der Weide.

"LH and La Belle Classe Academy are committed to inspiring and training upcoming and established yachting professionals by offering a wide range of bespoke courses. Together we will deliver this brand new leadership course based on understanding different leadership styles and developing your strategy for success."

Adds Erik: "We share the same ethos and values. Both parties strive to deliver the highest level of service and assist their clients to become the best they can be."
