RSB Rigging Solutions have been contracted to supply the running rigging package on one of the most prestigious sailing yacht projects of 2015: The next super J Class, J8.

J8 is an unbuilt 1935 Frank C Paine design presently under construction at Holland Jachtbouw. Hoek Design and Naval Architects are also responsible for the complete optimisation of the yacht as well as her interior design.

J8 is the next in a line of one of the most prestigious new build projects within the last year to add to RSB’s impressive client list. RSB also worked with the two most recent launches from Baltic Yachts, the 108 and the 116 launched at the end of 2014.

Allan Wester heads up the RSB Rigging Solutions splicing department, he states:

‘During a new build project it is essential to have a rigger with the experience to not only carry out the building and splicing of all the lines, but to ensure that all the hardware is compatible with the lines being used. At RSB we act as the middle man between mast manufacturer / client / line manufacturer and hard ware suppliers.

When we undertake a new build running rigging package it does not just involve the running rigging department but also pulls all it’s resources together and uses the practical sailing experience of all skill sets within RSB to ensure the final product works on the new build.

At RSB Rigging we have our designated experts in each of the fields of rigging and we keep ourselves at the forefront of our game by re-educating ourselves in new developments and maintaining good contact with our suppliers to stay one step ahead.

Our dedication and skill sets as a team is what has won us the J8 contract and we are delighted to be a part of the build.’

As the industry awaits the launch of J8 with baited breath, the riggers at RSB Rigging Solutions are amongst the elite list that have the opportunity to work on this iconic project.
