New Transport Agreement for Charters - Training with ECPY

Following the release of ECPY's new Transport Agreement at the beginning of the season, there are bound to be questions on how it works and how it differs from the MYBA Charter Agreement. ECPY is therefore holding a training session for members and non-members on Wednesday 1 July 2020 at Terminal 2 of the Port of Nice.

There will be two training sessions:

9am-12pm: Reserved for broker members and captains who have acquired the right to use the transport contact.

2pm-5pm: Reserved for members, non-members, brokers and captains.

This training will be free of charge for ECPY members only and 20 euros per person for non-members.

Wearing a mask is recommended and sanitizer gel will be made available at the entrance of the course.

To register, please email ECPY here.

As of April 27, ECPY has offered a new lighter version of the Transport Agreement for Yachts, Version V2.1. Some key things to note include:

  • It takes into consideration the latest tax, customs and maritime regulations.

  • It includes a series of revised and enriched information notes to assist drawing up the contract.

  • There are versions in both English and French.

Transport Agreement vs Charter Agreement

The ECPY Transport Agreement for yachts (VAT 10%) is a very attractive alternative to the MYBA Charter Agreement (VAT 20%).

For yachts departing from France or Monaco, it:

  • Clarifies the responsibility of the signatories and the different events that could arise.

  • Defines a modifiable itinerary with a fixed price including fuel.

  • Benefits from reduced VAT taxation (10%), or may be fully exempt in the event of passage through a non-French port.

  • Benefits from a total exemption from VAT and TICPE on fuel.

  • No longer requires any obligation to register for travel agent status, and therefore no specific insurance of financial guarantee.

Experience and Deployment

The Transport Agreement is recognized by the French administration, and ECPY is in contact with other European states to ensure they also recognise it. It will soon also be available on a secure digital platform for 100% paper-free editing.

Access to the Agreement

To begin with, the agreement will be available exclusively to brokers who are members of ECPY.
