Nautech Group Expands in the Caribbean

Exhibiting at the Monaco Yacht Show this week, Nautech Group has announced the acquisition of their sixth shipyard, a repair and refit facility in Martinique increasing their presence and capabilities in the Caribbean.

The shipyard in Martinique offers a 180m dry dock and 200m of alongside mooring in a secure gated facility, providing all the benefits and experience a superyacht would expect from a European yard.

“We are very pleased to announce that we are now able to receive very large yachts into Martinique, building on our existing presence in the region with our facility in Cuba. Visiting yachts can now expect all the quality of workmanship they would get in any of our European yards, and utilize the services of our European Project Managers.” said Xavier Nedjam, Sales & Marketing Manager at Nautech.

“Yachts can undertake any refit or repair work prior to the season and after the rigors of an Atlantic crossing, any issues that arise can be dealt with locally. We can also handle emergency maintenance issues while yachts are cruising in the region.

"Ultimately, it means Nautech can offer a year round service with facilities in both Europe and the Caribbean, safe in the knowledge that with Nautech’s Support Life Cycle our project managers have detailed knowledge of each yacht’s history and maintenance records wherever they are in the world.”

Strategically Nautech’s expansion to Martinique gives the company an important competitive advantage. As Xavier explains, "There are not many yards in the Caribbean with European knowledge and expertise and we are also able to offer considerable cost savings over US facilities.”
