Luxury Hospitality Accredits Three New Trainers Under the GUEST Program

Luxury Hospitality, the leading experts in 7-star hospitality training for superyacht crew continue to cement their reputation for supplying the most comprehensive service and leadership development courses in the industry by accrediting three more trainers under the prestigious GUEST Program.

Svenja Halligan, Rob Rademakers and Lazlso Gal recently joined Luxury Hospitality’s 10-strong team of inspirational trainers – eight of whom are GUEST-accredited – further strengthening the company’s dedication to providing the most thorough interior training available for superyacht crew.

With over a decade’s experience working in luxury hospitality, Svenja has worked on board some of the world’s most high profile superyachts as Head of Service and Chief Stewardess, and is now sharing her rich experience and specialist knowledge with the new generation of crew via her role as Specialist Trainer with Luxury Hospitality.

Following years of extensive work with cocktails, fine spirits, wine, cheeses, cigars and coffee, Lazlo joined the yachting industry in 2010. He graduated with distinction from the International Butler Academy in Holland in 2012 and for the following eight years, has worked as a Chief Steward and Private Butler for an influential American family. As Specialist Trainer at Luxury Hospitality, Lazlo shares his knowledge and passion for creating memorable guest experiences and building happy and motivated interior teams.

A renowned bar, mixology, barista and tea specialist, Rob has successfully completed many recognised studies including: Beverage Alcohol Resource in New York; Barista Level 2 at Dutch Coffee Academy; WSET Level 2, Wine & Food Pairing at “de Echoput”; Master and Practice Speculator at Sincess; and Faux Tropical “Tiki” Bar school in Ibiza. He will share his expert knowledge further through Luxury Hospitality training.

The GUEST Program (Guidelines for Unified Excellence in Service Training) is the only internationally-accredited maritime hospitality and service training and certification available to crew working in luxury superyachts, and offers progression opportunities to fill in the gaps at all levels in the interior department, from entry level to Chief Steward/ess. Developed by professionals in the community and interior departments - including Luxury Hospitality’s very own trainers – GUEST was taken over by IAMI (the International Association of Maritime Institutions) in 2019, which now governs the platform.

Sitting hand in hand with Luxury Hospitality’s very own training modules, founder Peter Vogel and his team are extremely proud to be able to offer even more GUEST-accredited trainers to their loyal clients.

“It’s extremely important that crew have as many accredited qualifications to bring value to the interior training for the maritime industry, so the addition of GUEST to our own Luxury Hospitality training is a real coup for our trainers,” says Georgie Mainey, Chairperson of IAMI Maritime Hospitality Subgroup and Academy Manager at Luxury Hospitality. “The more qualifications that are recognised will just elevate the whole of the interior training skills across the industry.”
