Karpaz Gate Marina Achieves Accolade in International Marina of the Year Awards 2022

Karpaz Gate Marina in North Cyprus has for the fourth time, been voted among the world’s most popular Gold Anchor-accredited marinas with recognition in the prestigious The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) Towergate’s Marina of the Year Awards 2022.

Voted by berth holders and boat owners, the full-service 300-berth marina on the island’s stunning Karpaz peninsula came runner-up in the International Marina of the Year category, just one level away from the winning spot.

Reflecting high levels of customer satisfaction achieved by 5 Gold Anchor-rated Karpaz Gate Marina in the past year, the award is resulting from exceptional standards of service throughout its facilities, its exceptionally warm and pleasurable atmosphere created by the staff and for its outstanding location and setting.

Open to all Gold Anchor accredited marinas in the UK and overseas, the TYHA Marina of the Year Awards 2022 gave customers the chance to put forward their favourite marina, categorised by berthing numbers and the by the type of location of the marina.

On receiving this years’ award announced at Southampton International Boat Show, Liza Singer, the marina’s Managing Director, said: “This is the fourth award we have won since 2017which we are overjoyed with, and even more so by receiving this recognition from The Yacht Harbour Association.

“This of course could only be made possible due to our supporting guests who we are grateful to for nominating us. It is a result of diligent and detailed work, to constantly review processes and fine-tuning our services, to ensure we offer nothing but the best for our visitors and guests, from sea or from ashore.”

Liza went on the say: “Our offering is unique because we offer flexibility with our berthing packages and an on-site Technical Centre. That, combined with luxury recreational facilities including our Beach Club and promenade and our boutique hotel, hamam and spa which opened this year, with a new indoor pool, gym and yoga studio coming up this winter and a private yacht club from our clients, really makes Karpaz Gate Marina magnificent.

Add to that our amazing team, who keep the operation flowing and who always strive to give our guests exceptional service, and you can appreciate the pillars of our continuous popularity.”

As winners of the International Marina of the Year in 2017 and runner-up in 2018, 2019, 2021 and now 2022, means that Karpaz Gate Marina has held 5 Gold Anchors, one of the highest accolades for service and operational standards available in the industry since 2013.

Presenting even more unique opportunities, Karpaz Gate Marina now gives guests the chance to achieve powerboat skipper qualifications, with packages for a two-day RYA Powerboat Level 2 course at its RYA Training Centre, with two nights’ stay including breakfast at the spectacular nautical-themed hotel.

Open to anyone over the age of 12, the RYA training provides everything you need to know for self-sufficient powerboating at a basic level, with courses including launching, mooring, anchoring and recovery and other boat driving skills with no other pre-course experience necessary.

2022 has also seen the introduction of chartering a powerboat at the marina, giving guests the chance to explore the coves and islands in the area. Skippered day charters are available on a 20m/64ft Princess motoryacht for up to 14 people or a 16m/52ft Azimut motoryacht for up to 8 people or a 7m/22ft Yamaha motorboat for a maximum of 4 people and is a fantastic addition to the marina.

TYHA, a group association within British Marine, launched the Marina of the Year Awards in 2014 to recognise the best of almost 160 Gold Anchor-accredited marinas across the world and help nominated marinas provide a better service for their customers.
