Dockside.ai to Open Fifth Office in Palma

Premier Dutch yachting agency Dockside.ai today announces the opening of a new office in Palma to expand its offering in the Mediterranean.

The Amsterdam-based business was founded a decade ago to guide clients through every aspect of the yachting experience. Dockside’s dedicated multi-lingual teams specialise in charters, shore and port support services, operational yacht management, brokerage and crew resources and is targeted at yachts over 30m.

They also encompass itinerary planning for the Northern European Route; Rotterdam, London, Hamburg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Bergen and the Fjords.

Palma is the latest addition to a stable which also includes Sint Maarten, Oslo and Rotterdam. The new base will be a one-stop shop for yacht requirements across the board, focusing on shore support services, charter, refit, yacht management, training and crew placement.

"Mallorca has a unique reputation in the yachting industry, offering comfortable and luxurious marinas and high quality branded products in surroundings of great beauty and heritage," says Dockside.ai CEO and Founder Remie Kalloe.

"The stunning beaches, historic city centre, amazing gastronomy and warm sunny climate all combine to make Mallorca one of the most popular and lively year-round superyacht destinations in Europe. As such, Palma - which has been voted several times as one of the world’s best cities to live in – is a great fit for Dockside.ai.

"We pride ourselves on the fact that we are the only company able to charter and manage yachts on which the crew were recruited and trained. It feels like a natural next step to be branching out into the Mediterranean with the high service level, infrastructure and best available shore support services which have helped to seal our reputation in Amsterdam, Sint Maarten, Rotterdam and Oslo."

The new venture sees Dockside partnering with superyacht captain Michael Zinken, whose extensive experience and expert knowledge of the industry have taken him across all levels of yachting in the Med, the US and the Caribbean.

"I’ve known Remie for many years through the yachting network and now we are joining forces to expand the business together," says Michael. "I’m a shorebased captain in Palma and he wants a partner to help him expand his services in the Mediterranean.

"I’m contacted a lot about refits and assisting shipyard periods and for the last year or so, I’ve been an unofficial representative, assisting Dockside in Mallorca. The clients are very happy so now we are making it official.

"Partnering with Dockside gives me a larger platform and a lot more time to deal with clients. It’s a chance to put my experience and expertise to good use and I’m very excited about us developing the business together."
