Fraser, the world’s leading full-service yachting company, announced the winner of the fifth Yacht Management Captain of the Year Award at the 60th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, with the award presented at the annual Fraser Owners’ Dockside Soirée.

The award was created to recognize the captains who successfully manage their yachts efficiently and effectively within the Fraser management team, and can be won by those working on private or commercial yachts within the Fraser fleet or even on a New Build project. Captains are nominated by the yacht management team and then evaluated on a range of attributes including precision and punctuality in accounting and cost control, management of the crew and the safety culture onboard, respect of the planned maintenance on board and the happiness of the owner and his guests.

The 2019 Yacht Management Captain of the Year Award was won by Captain Adam Connolly of M/Y Calliope. He has been working with his current owner for a number of years and during that time has shown his dedicated approach to obtaining the best results while always being transparent and positive. He is a great motivator and works closely with the management team at Fraser to maintain continued compliance for the yacht. He is highly results-driven, always keeping in mind that teamwork is the ability to work together towards a common vision – “the owner’s enjoyment of his yacht”.

The award was presented by Raphael Sauleau, CEO of Fraser and Mike Busacca, COO of Fraser, who were joined on stage by Nelson Lucero, Vice-President of Sales at Ulysse Nardin North America, who sponsored the main prize of a Chronometer Torpilleur Ulysse Nardin timepiece. Other prizes included a 2,500USD cash prize from MHG Insurance Brokers, three days of free berthing at both Port Adriano and Marina Ibiza and a sailing jacket from Slam. Further sponsors who made the night possible include Wenthur Law Group and California Audio Technologies, and new partners Hurricane Hole, Omni Access, Robb Report and Montecristo Cigars, Peninsula Yacht Services, PI Marine and Crestron.

After the award presentation, guests enjoyed live music, delicious hors d’oeuvres, champagne and a cigar bar. Guests could also test out beautiful Ulysse Nardin timepieces in the comfort of the Windward VIP Pavilion before collecting their goodie bags which included Bahamian table salt from Hurricane Hole Marina and a 4Ocean bracelet kindly donated by MarineMax amongst other goodies.
