SuperYacht Radio, the only industry focused radio station, based in Palma de Mallorca, has launched SuperYacht Talks - a new service broadcasting seminars and talks to the global superyacht industry.
The new platform enables companies or individuals to broadcast live their seminars and talks from any location and hosts only need a computer with a connection to the PA or Mic, an internet connection for broadcast and an App provided by SuperYacht Talks.
Resulting from numerous requests by companies and associations seeking to deliver their conferences, seminars and talks to a wider global audience, the service can also be used by companies wishing to provide tutorials or specialised training updates that require audio explanations.
“There are so many great discussions and talks across so many different sectors of the superyacht industry all year round, all around the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas and concepts as explained directly by the experts. To be able to deliver these ideas to listeners anywhere in the world makes us feel very privileged.” says Maeve Dempsey, co-founder of SuperYacht Radio.
Co-founder Dave Dempsey continues, “The superyacht industry is a global community, and we are very excited to be providing a service that enables industry professionals to tune in wherever they are and be part of these talks. By integrating social media into the service, listeners can pose questions to the speaker and be truly part of the conversation, not just a spectator."
SuperYacht Talks launched its maiden broadcast on 23 November from Astilleros in Palma for an ACREW seminar “Turn the Tide on Plastic”, presented by Mayra Kok and Andreas Buhl from Water Without Waste.
“I liked very much the quick and smooth way of collaboration with Maeve and Dave from SuperYacht Radio in the live broadcast of our workshop 'Turn the Tide on Plastic - Part II: Testing and Tasting of Drinking Water. No worries for me about the technical part whatsoever, just the pleasure of reaching a wider public!” said Marja Kok.
“It was an important focus for us to make the service accessible to every size of association or business, down to the individual or small charity with tight budgets." said Maeve. Pricing for the service starts at €500 euros with full technical support and a professional recording of your talk or conference.
SuperYacht Talks offers both remote and on-site technical support during all talks and can record each broadcast for publication and distribution at a later stage. All events can also be promoted in advance to help maximise awareness and increase the audience.
There are three levels of service, depending on the requirements of the host:
Open, accessible and free to all listeners. For when information is not confined to a select group.
Accessible only to members of associations or groups who are invited to listen, where the stream is password protected. For example, for clients, association members or captains only.
A secure service for paid events and seminars, allowing the host to reach a wider audience while collecting revenues from those who wish to listen.
Founded in October 2017 by Dave and Maeve Dempsey, the 24/7 radio station dedicated to the superyacht industry has quickly grown a faithful audience worldwide.
Alongside a continuous stream of feel good contemporary music, international news on the hour and interviews with industry professionals, listeners can tune in to a variety of regular shows including: The Overboard Show with Dave and Coz, Drop the Anchor with Chris Marsden, Around the World with Michael Howorth and Techie Talks with Pippa Nicholas and, coming soon, Between two Yetis with Lee Savage.
SuperYacht Radio attracts an average of 41,500 listeners per month, with a growing reach across social media, establishing a new medium of communication in the superyacht industry.
