IGY Sete Marina in the South of France Officially Open

IGY Sete Marina 5 140

International marina operator and developer, Island Global Yachting (IGY Marinas), is thrilled to announce the official opening of IGY Sète Marina located in the south of France.  IGY Marinas worked closely with the Sète Port Authority to create their newest and most advanced superyacht facility in the Mediterranean.

IGY Sète Marina received its first vessel earlier this week and is currently accepting short- and long-term reservations, as well as berth ownership opportunities with an array of perks and multiple benefits.  The marina facility features a total of 582m (1,908ft) of alongside berthing within a protected basin with the capability of welcoming vessels up to 180m (590ft).

Additionally, the purpose-built superyacht marina also features electrical connections providing up to 2,000amps – this is a feature provided only at IGY Sète Marina.  The facility is a Certified ISPS Port with 24-hour security and provides ample storage and parking adjacent to the vessel with the potential to assist crew and supported maintenance.

As the second IGY marina facility in the Mediterranean region, IGY Sète Marina is a milestone for the company.  “We are thrilled the Port of Sète called upon us to work on this project and together we have built one of the best purpose-built superyacht marinas to have been open in recent years within the Mediterranean,” stated Tom Mukamal, CEO of IGY Marinas.

The project in Sète, the South of France, has been a great opportunity for IGY Marinas to showcase the range of services provided by the world’s largest international marina company.  IGY managed the project from beginning to end including; design, permitting, construction, and finance and will oversee the marina operations, marketing, and accounting.  “We are confident in our abilities and feel this partnership will expand potential prospects for future investments throughout the region” concludes Mr. Mukamal.

Perfect for private use or charter vessels, Sète is the ideal home-port location in the Mediterranean.  Conveniently located between Barcelona and the Côte d’Azur, IGY Sète Marina is central to the most desired cruising destinations such as Barcelona, the Balearic Islands, Cannes, Nice, St. Tropez, Monaco, and Sardinia.  With the Montpellier International Airport 30 minutes away and a nearby train station hub, owners and guests can easily access transport to inland destinations.  Furthermore, the marina facility is within proximity to some of the world’s most prestigious refit yards.

IGY Marinas has been in the industry for over a decade and become well-known for its unrivaled, above-and-beyond, customer service.  “IGY’s longstanding relationships with some of the largest superyachts in the world is significant to expanding Sète as a yachting haven,” explains Richard Kettle, General Manager for IGY Sète Marina, “and we believe these relationships, along with the facility’s location, services, and amenities, will attract captains who’ve become accustomed to the IGY standards.”

The marina facility will offer the services and amenities expected of an IGY marina, including; gated 24-hour security, in-slip fueling, grey & blackwater pump-out, full vessel concierge, recycling, hazardous waste disposal and wireless internet.  Additionally, berth owners at IGY Sète Marina will have access to alongside parking, customized storage, fibre-optic internet, and additional security measures such as the installation of additional lighting and CCTV.  The clubhouse, which will be completed winter 2019, will house the captain and crew lounge, fitness centre with showers and changing facilities, wi-fi equipped business centre, and a roof-top terrace.

The marina, located in Sète, France within the Port du Sète, provides easy access to highly desirable cruising grounds and offers a perfect winter haven and year-round dockage.  Known as the “Little Venice of the Languedoc” for its intertwined canals throughout the town’s centre.  The charming town provides an experience of its festivals, music, art, and cuisines.

Focused primarily on its sea-side heritage, Sète is home to a variety of maritime trades and is most famed for its seafood – particularly oysters.  To ensure the best guest experience, IGY Sète Marina is very excited to further introduce Sète to the yachting industry and will provide bicycles, electric scooters, and shuttles to explore the town.
