Strategic Partner - Official Series Clothing Partner, Marinepool makes a strong comeback to powerboating
Based in Dubai, the World Professional Powerboating Association (WPPA) is the founding and managing body for the UIM XCAT World Series. The WPPA is sanctioned by the UIM – the international governing body of power boating, which is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The UIM XCAT World Series is a thrilling series of high-speed races that takes the teams around the world as they battle for supremacy. Teams are awarded points according to their placings, and the team that has accrued the most points at the end of the season is declared overall winner.
XCAT boats are multi-hulls made of advanced carbon technology with two outboard engines with massive horse power, totaling 600 hp with up to 5,000cc and the minimum length allowed is 7.6 metres with a maximum of 10 metres.
Three heats of the 2013 Series have already taken place (two in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi) with a further five races, both UAE-based and international, planned for the remainder of the year.
