Family of El Faro Crew Member Sues Owners for $100M

The family of El Faro crew member Lonnie Jordan have filed a $100 million lawsuit against the owners of the vessel, Tote Sevices Inc.

The US cargo ship is presumed to have sunk after sailing into the path of Hurricane Joaquin. The lawsuit was announced by attourney Willie E. Gary, who is representing the famiiy of Mr Jordan. The family is sueing Tote Services and Captain Michael Davidson who died along with the other 32 crew members on board.

On Wednesday Mr Gary, surrounded by family members of Mr Jordan stated "Money won't bring him back, I know that. But we're going to change things and that's what big business understands is when you hit them in their pockets".
