Clipper Round the World Brisbane - Race 8 update: Fleet to continue motor sailing.

Justin Taylor, the Race Director of the Clipper Race, has reviewed the expected weather forecasts for the South China Sea for phase B of Race 8 and it is clear that there is not enough wind to race to Singapore.

It will be faster and more predictable to continue motor sailing. Therefore he has taken the decision to abandon the race and the finishing positions for phase A will now become the final results of the race with Henri Lloyd, GREAT Britain and OneDLL in first, second and third places respectively, subject to final confirmation by the Race Office.

The boats will now make best speed by motor sail to One15 Marina at Sentosa Cove, Singapore and are expected to arrive on Friday 14 February.
