CLOUD9 was launched on 21 January at CRN shipyard in Ancona, a 74m custom superyacht designed exclusively for CRN by Zuccon International Project in collaboration with British studio, Winch Design.
Commissioned by an experienced superyacht owner, the project involved the design of external lines and technical specifications in collaboration with CRN's own technical department.
CLOUD9 boasts a rare combination of volume and sleek lines due to a superstructure that gradually tilts inwards. The pleasing result is due largely to collaboration with yacht designers Winch Design, which has since inspired a new project for a 79m superyacht already under construction at CRN shipyard.
"We are particularly pleased with the work we have done with Andy Winch since in his project for the internal areas he managed to maintain a close unity with the superstructure design; the overall layout is very smooth, giving the idea of great fluidity and flexibility." said architect Gianni Zuccon.
CLOUD9 can accomodate up to 16 guests in six VIP cabins plus the owner's suite, as well as 22 crew members. She has five decks including a private deck forward of the master cabin, and a large beach club with an extended platform for easy access to the water.
“I remember realizing, right after the launch, how much the aesthetic impact of the new 74m was in fact much stronger than we could have realized in the beginning and I think this is one of the greatest compliments a yacht can receive.” said Gianni Zuccon.
