The Crew Coach Global Business Giving Venture

Luxury yacht crew professional development company The Crew Coach has introduced an innovative new way to support worthy causes around the world via the unique charitable business giving platform, Buy One Give One.

Known as B1G1:Business for Good, this simple online system allows business members to facilitate micro-giving impacts across a wide range of different projects worldwide, quickly and easily. Businesses and their employees can select which projects to support, and clients benefit from knowing that their investments in The Crew Coach services also have a positive impact for people and causes who really need help.

Since joining B1G1 in October 2014, The Crew Coach has already made 581 donations to projects worldwide on behalf of their clients and the yachting industry. In only 8 weeks, as a result of career development services they have invested in, The Crew Coach’s clients have ensured:

• A struggling village has 20 extra livestock for income and nutrition.
• 3 square metres of rainforest are now protected, and 7 trees planted.
• 100 people have been given income-generating materials- such as sewing machines, farm materials and irons.
• A disadvantaged child has received 6 hours of computer training, and internet access has been provided for 100 days.
• 10 days of teacher support in a classroom and 3 children will enjoy a better education for a year.
• 23 days of social worker’s wages have been paid.

And many more!

For Alison Rentoul, founder of The Crew Coach, this is an extremely exciting project and one very close to her heart:

“Every time you invest in one of our products or services we give to great causes around the world. This means you are not only helping yourself when you invest in yourself with The Crew Coach, you are helping to make the world a better place. We love the work B1G1 does to help give our work a higher purpose and a greater meaning and hope you will too.”

These donations are called ‘micro-impacts’, but their effects are anything but small: since B1G1 launched in 2007 there have been over 54 million micro-impacts made by businesses, big and small. Harnessing the power of caring businesspeople and their clients all over the world, B1G1 has become a global phenomenon while proving their principle: ‘The Power of Small.’

The beauty of The Crew Coach’s involvement in this scheme is that it puts yachting dollars to work to help others, without requiring anything extra from the consumer. Simply by purchasing a CV optimisation service, having a career consultation with The Crew Coach or investing in their online leadership training program, yacht crew can pay it forward, without paying any more for the service.

The Crew Coach’s membership of B1G1 gives crew the opportunity to improve the lives of others by just doing what they normally do. A generous portion of The Crew Coach’s proceeds goes towards nominated projects, selected from more than 600 in 30 countries. Crucially, business membership fees pay for B1G1’s operating costs, meaning all projects receive the full 100% of donations made.

This wonderful initiative allows crew who care about improving our world and our environment to really make a difference. Any type of business can join B1G! and The Crew Coach would like to see more yachting businesses get on board to show what an impact we can make together:
