Race Viewing from a Yacht at Monaco F1® Grand Prix

The 76th edition of Monaco F1® Grand Prix will be held from 24 - 27 May on the world-famous circuit through the streets of Monaco and fringing the harbour at Port Hercule.

Considered one of motorsport's most high-profile races, the event is hosted over four days, with qualifying on the Thursday and the main race on Sunday.

Of course May is also a time when many of the world's largest yachts arrive on the French Riviera to attend events like the Cannes Film Festival as well as the Grand Prix, where cocktail parties and trackside berths are the place to see and be seen.

Chartering a Yacht for the Monaco F1® Grand Prix

Alexander Coles, Senior Charter Broker at Bespoke Yacht Charter agrees that chartering a yacht for Monaco has huge appeal, "Monaco features strongly on almost any charter itinerary in the west Mediterranean and many of the top yachts are based here in summer.  It's a great base for cruising along the rest of the French Riviera and a gateway for charters to the Italian Riviera."

To experience the atmosphere during the 78-lap race from a yacht moored a few metres from the track is as good as it gets. "It’s the ultimate way to host and appreciate top clients, as well as entertain family and friends.  Enjoying the race with a chilled champagne or rosé on the top deck with a backdrop of the Prince's Palace and Monaco skyline is sublime!" says Alexander.

The world is watching Monaco during race week as F1® drivers and A-listers gather at private parties on yachts at anchor and lining the quay. Superyachts with hot tubs and swimming pools, helipads, live entertainment and plenty of champagne keep the atmosphere electric, as tenders dash guests between celebrity functions and after-parties ashore.

Berths and Private Balconies for the Monaco F1® Grand Prix

Each year the best berths in Port Hercule are in hot demand and get snapped up early so it’s advisable to plan well ahead and speak to an expert charter broker who can guide you and do the paperwork. Since space is limited, many yachts also anchor in the bay or take berths in the neighbouring ports of Fontvieille and Cap d'Ail, just a few minutes away. For race fans without the required budget you could consider shared hospitality on a yacht, or you could purchase a VIP package to watch the race from a private terrace.
