The popular 37m MASTEKA 2 has a new exciting destination. Following an extensive shipyard period, Captain Matthew Stafford looks forward to welcoming charter guests in New Caledonia.
New Caledonia has the world‘s largest lagoonin the world: 24,000 km2, proclaimed a world heritage site by UNESCO. It offers a 1,500 km (930 miles) long coral reef, inhabited by a vast variety of marine life.
Described as “the land of eternal spring” it is blessed with a pleasant sub-tropical climate all year around, July to September are the most popular months to watch humpback whales shelter in the lagoon, travelling from Antarctica to breed and give birth.
Night dives in Isle of Pines, the best diving location in New Caledonia, are memorable, where you’re likely to be joined by sea snakes, mantarays and loggerhead turtles. Other sites of interest include Kasmira reef, Faille de Noupoa, Garden of Eden, or Passe de Gie. Recife de l'Aiguille (Prony Needle) is a divers' paradise with its pinnacle that extends 35m from the sea.
MASTEKA 2 will be available in New Caledonia from 15 August to late October, returning to Sydney for the winter season, November to March 2018.
