After the success of last year's inaugural charity cycle ride in aid of Cancer Research and support for patients, this year's 16 riders from the Yachting Industry were hoping they would raise even more this time around.

They actually smashed last year's total of 114k euros and raised 285k euros for Cancer Research UK and 2 local charities, the Children's oncology unit in Nice and Clinique Tzanck in Mougins.

Final amount raised

Ben Young of SYM Superyacht Management and Adrian Long of Inter-Nett, as well as some of the riders and support team, met up on the IYCA Antibes with the cheque made out to the worthy causes.

They rode 850km in five days starting in Ancona, Italy and arriving in France via a special 'tribute stage' from San Remo through Monaco to Antibes.

Ben said, ' Team C4C 2014 are delighted to announce the final total raised this year is a massive €285,560.06. Thanks to all those who have supported us'

100% of funds raised will go direct to the charities, with riders providing their own funding for the ride and sustenance en-route provided by Gourmet Deliveries.
