Venice Hospitality Challenge Ready to put on a Show in the Lagoon

Only in the fantastic setting of Venice, where the sea and beauty are always in front of the eyes, it is possible to admire a regatta that takes place entirely a few metres from the shores, be amazed by watching the crews engaged in difficult maneuvers in the background of a church, to grasp the instant in which the winner crosses the finish line and all this while maybe we drink a coffee or eat an ice cream comfortably seated. It is on this extraordinary stage that the Venice Hospitality Challenge will perform on Saturday 15 October.

Reserved only for maxi yachts, it is the only regatta in the world that takes place entirely in the internal waters of a city. New this year is the double start: the fleet, based on the characteristics of each boat, will be divided by the Race Committee into two categories that will start two minutes from each other. At the end of the regatta, scheduled for around 5.00 pm, the prize-giving ceremony will follow at the Zattere at the VYP Venice Yacht Pier. The public will be able to follow the regatta from the banks of the San Marco basin, from Punta della Dogana, Giudecca and Zattere.

For this ninth edition, fifteen famous maxi yachts led by internationally renowned skippers will be ready to compete on the race course for a prestigious victory and the coveted Doge's hat, specially made this year by the historic CAM glass factory in Murano.

The public will be able to follow the regatta from the banks of the San Marco basin, from Punta della Dogana, Giudecca and Zattere.

Hotel teams include SINA Centurion Palace, The Gritti Palace, Ca' Sagredo Hotel, Hotel Danieli and the St. Regis.

Maxi yacht teams include Maxi Jena, Way of Life, Only Lu and Kiwi.
