Top Five Reasons to Visit MEDYS 2023

Following the huge success of the 2022 event, the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) is returning to Nafplion from April 29 to May 03, 2023. With just over a month to go until the 8th MEDYS, it’s the perfect moment to take a sneak peek at what the world’s largest crewed charter yacht show has in store for us.

Since its genesis, the MEDYS has always been about celebrating the essence of yachting and shining a spotlight on the Greek yachting industry. Established in 2014 by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the MEDYS has become the “must-visit” charter show on the annual calendar and it brings together professionals from all around the world.

Last year’s show was simply unprecedented. With the highest attendance levels on record and a buzz that has yet to die down, it has set the bar high and challenged the team to deliver an even better event this year.

Wondering why the MEDYS has become the world’s favourite charter yacht show?

The yachts

The truth is that the stars of the show are the yachts themselves. From the modern and sleek to the classic beauties, they are what bring the global audience flocking to Nafplion. Being welcomed on board, examining the details, meeting the captains and crew, wining and dining - it is an immersive experience and one that arms charter professionals with the insights that are necessary to guide their clients.

The global audience

With attendees from the four corners of the globe, it’s an excellent opportunity for yacht owners and charter companies to promote their luxury crewed craft and the strengths of Greek yachting.

The networking opportunities

With professional events such as brokers lunches and yacht parties and purely social moments between friends, this is the place to strengthen existing bonds and kickstart collaborations. The laid-back atmosphere is conducive to making meaningful connections and the fact that the town is compact, with everything within walking distance, means that all attendees remain close to each other!

The exhibitors

With each passing year, the number of exhibitors is increasing without compromising on quality. This allows attendees to explore a range of ancillary services and products. Whether it is discovering fine Greek wines and top-notch food provisions or yacht chandlery, it is a stroll that will whet your appetite.

The culture

One of the main reasons to travel is to live and… learn. And our host town is the perfect springboard for that. If one can find a few hours, in what is always a busy schedule, the archaeological sites of Mycenae, Tiryns and Epidaurus are waiting to be discovered. But if leaving the Show is not on the cards, wandering through the streets of historic and romantic Nafplion is very rewarding in itself. Check out the Bourtzi fortress the assassination site of Governor Kapodistrias, the Archaeological Museum... and go shopping for the stress-relieving "komboloyia" that Nafplion is particularly famous for.
