The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous

The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous returns to the picturesque shores of Virgin Gorda this spring.

Attracting some of the world’s finest superyachts, this popular event on the international racing calendar represents an eclectic mix of vessels including sail and motor yachts built to both performance and cruising specifications.

Organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s BVI division and Boat International Media, an impressive list of registered competitors are all set for three days of thrilling racing in the prime sailing conditions of the British Virgin Islands. There will be a fleet start for the racing division and a pursuit start for the cruising division.

Owners, their families and friends can also enjoy shore-based hospitality including a Welcome Caribbean Party, an exclusive Owners’ Dinner in the YCCS Clubhouse, a Cocktail Competition on the dock, a fabulous evening at Oil Nut Bay Beach Club and spa and beauty treatments as well as visits to some of the nearby islands’ most scenic spots.

Sailing yachts already registered for 2014 include new launches 197ft Seahawk from Perini Navi, 108ft Inoui and 150ft Ganesha, both by Vitters, as well as first time participant 130ft Wally Angel’s Share. Meanwhile, an impressive list of returning competitors include Fitzroy Yachts’ 123ft Moonbird, 188ft Twizzle by Royal Huisman, Yachting Developments’ 121ft Bliss, 147ft Visione from Baltic Yachts and Oyster Yachts 100ft Sarafin.

Yacht owners who wish to participate should register without delay to secure their place in the fleet and their berth at YCCS Marina. The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous and YCCS Marina welcome sailing and motor yachts with an LOA over 80ft.
