Superyacht Foodie to Hold Tasting Event in Monaco this September

The second season of Superyacht Foodie has been a roaring success, with yachts chefs and global yacht provisioners hailing the platform as their favourite resource to find rare, sustainable, healthy and speciality food and drinks that are approved to superyacht standards.

“Superyacht Foodie is a great resource for finding unusual ingredients to impress guests, especially if they have dietary requirements,” says Giovanni Bruno, head chef on MY Tranquility. “It also saves me time because I know the products are going to taste really good having been tested first by an ex-yacht chef.

“I enjoyed receiving the tasting basket and so did the rest of the crew, who also got to try out the drinks and ingredients. The INLAND ICE water was very impressive. We will be serving it on board from now on as well as using it in the galley.”

“Superyacht Foodie represents some really interesting produce,” agrees Anders Pedersen, head chef on MY Roma. “It was great to get sustainable ingredients, snacks and drinks that taste amazing and are often gluten free and vegan, delivered straight to my galley for us all to try. The quality and variety of samples was excellent, and I like that we can provision anything we want using our usual contacts."

Superyacht Foodie does not sell the products, it connects the producers of niche, luxury food and drinks, many of which are also vegan or gluten free, with the trusted superyacht provisioners who understand how to store, transport, and deliver them to superyachts globally. New in 2022 they now have a dedicated storage facility in the South of France that any brand represented by Superyacht Foodie can use to ensure quick delivery to their superyacht clientele.

The team behind this unique marketing platform deliver free tasting baskets filled with samples of the brands they represent directly to yacht chefs in Europe and Fort Lauderdale, and encourage them to reach out to their preferred provisioners or agents when they are ready to order. Their Instagram profile promotes an ever-increasing bank of fine foods yet to be discovered and shares recipe ideas and details on the globally sourced produce.

Popular events at MYBA Charter Show, Barcelona and in Cape Town earlier this year have allowed yacht crew and provisioners to meet the people behind the next generation food brands, and the next event is confirmed for Saturday 17th September at Monaco Yacht Club.

“Meeting Superyacht Foodie at MYBA Charter Show and receiving a tasting basket full of next gen food and drinks was a real bonus,” says Nathan Clements, head chef on SY Asahi. “I loved trying the rare goods and thought many of the products would be a fantastic addition to the galley, especially the Hikiän honey and smoothie powders. Our chief stewardess also picked out several items that would make healthy yet luxurious snacks for guests, and thought the range of all natural beers, larger, long drinks and INLAND ICE water was excellent.”

Founder of Superyacht Foodie, ex yacht chef Titta Uoti-Väisänen explained: “The new concept of a single source introducing luxury, rare and sustainable food and drinks from small producers, as well as innovative global food and beverage products has been a great success, and something that has been missing from our ultra-luxurious, yet time poor industry.

“We have already established the whole chain. Starting with unknown bespoke producers who we introduce at yacht shows, then getting their products cooked by a yacht chef and served to owners and guests onboard – and finishing up by the food producer receiving orders from superyacht provisioning agents. It’s very satisfying reaching our goal of successful foodie match making so quickly.

“As a by-product to our Superyacht Foodie service, we have also been asked to source very selected products from the Superyacht Foodie platform and introduce them to the private aviation sector. Why private aviation? Our end clientele is the same, so we believe that the products that please the superyacht clients will do the same on their private planes. We have already seen a few shooting stars like Kultasuklaa Oy Wilder superfood bars that are now flying around the world on the most prestigious private jets.”
