Stockholm 2021 Boat Show Cancelled

The Stockholm International Boat Show (Allt för sjön), planned for March 5-14, 2021, has been cancelled. Instead, an app will be available for an online experience with all important boat information and news gathered in one place, free for users to download.

“We will work intensively to ensure that visitors and exhibitors have a valuable boat week, even when it is not a physical fair but instead a new, digital format,” says Hanse Thorslund, project manager for the show.

The 2020 edition of Allt för sjön had to close prematurely due to the coronavirus. Just over eight months later, no relief has yet been communicated in Sweden regarding the possibility of conducting trade fairs, despite diligent lobbying from across the industry in order to find a safe way to resume operations.

The pandemic is also currently in a situation where the spread of infection is increasing sharply. The overall picture means that the organisers now see that the conditions for the implementation of Allt för sjön 2021 no longer exist. The next planned Allt för sjön will be held from March 11-20, 2022.

“We are fully aware of how important Allt för sjön is for our exhibitors’ seasonal sales, not least now that the current holiday celebrations have increased the demand for boating in general and boats in particular,” says Thorslund. ”As the regular implementation of Allt för sjön will not be implemented in 2021, we will therefore offer some form of alternative digital platform for exhibitors and all the region’s boat enthusiasts.

“The most important news must be available on the website and in an app. We will push for different premieres, show news, tell about open houses at boat dealers and more,” he adds.
