Palma Superyacht Show: 28 April - 2 May 2017

2014 palma superyacht show 140

The Palma Superyacht Show is a brokerage and charter show for yachts over 24m running concurrently with Boat Show Palma, the Balearic Islands' recreational sailing show. Now in its fifth year, the Palma Superyacht Show is organised by the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA), and has a relaxed and social atmosphere providing the perfect platform for exhibiting yachts and industry professionals.

With support from the Balearic government, the Port Authority, the Town Hall and the UIB (University of the Balearic Islands), and backed by MYBA (the Worldwide Yachting Association) the Palma Superyacht Show has established itself as a significant event in the yachting calendar.

Last year the show welcomed over 36,000 with 65 yachts on display, with seven sold and 14 weeks of charter signed.

The city of Palma is known for its excellent infrastructure, vibrant nightlife, great shopping and welcoming spirit, and was recently named the overall winner of the “Best Places to Live in the World” in a survey conducted by the Sunday Times. It is also an important yachting hub in the Mediterranean with a thriving local industry.

This year attendance is expected to rise sharply as interest in the region continues to grow. It also follows hot on the heals of the MYBA Charter Yacht Show to be held for the first time in OneOcean Port Vell in Barcelona from 24-27 April.

Already 70 yachts above 24m for sale and/or charter have registered, alongside 60 international exhibitors and a new Refit and Repair area.

This is in response to Palma’s thriving maintenance capabilities, and provides a new B2B section consisting of 21 fully-equipped three-by-three meter stands, complemented by a ‘Captain’s Corner’ with presentations, seminars, product launches and excellent catering. Companies keen to participate in this area are advised to contact us as soon as possible as places are limited.

Ahead of the Mediterranean season, superyachts on show range from 60m motor yachts to performance cruisers. A sure crowd puller is the 34m SELJM, a regular on the classic yacht regatta circuit, winning the prestigious Concours d'Elegance award at the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.

Also on show will be the 59m superyacht MAYBE, built by MetalSHIPS & Docks, the largest yacht designed and built in Spain. She was launched only last year and as well as sleek lines and a 5,000 nautical mile range, she boasts a gym, spa, jacuzzi, sauna, movie theatre, elevator and helipad.

Exhibitors include Astilleros de Mallorca, a local refit and maintenance yard servicing over 120 yachts annually, and superyacht finishers Nautipaints. Company CEO Toni Salom comments, “We are delighted to be exhibiting at the show for the fourth consecutive year, and return for this 2017 edition with our largest stand to date. In our opinion the show has the best infrastructure in the Mediterranean, not to mention an unrivalled networking service within our home city of Palma.”

Roger Horner, Managing Director of e3 Systems commented, “We have been involved with the Show since it started in 2013. We attend shows all around the world but it’s fantastic to have a truly international show right here on our doorstep, in Palma. It gets bigger and better each year, attracting high quality visitors from around the world. This year we have taken a second stand with our partner Kymeta to showcase revolutionary new flat panel antennas.”

First-time exhibitors include Nautor Swan Service Centre, located next to Nautor Swan Brokerage, and locally based Crew & Concierge Recruitment.
