Newport Yacht Charter Show 2015

A line-up of 25 world-class charter yachts worth a combined value of over $100 million has been finalized for the 34th Annual Newport Charter Yacht Show. The event, which starts Monday, June 22 and runs through Thursday, June 25 at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, R.I., is one of only six such charter industry shows in the world, catering to industry professionals and VIPs interested in exploring the many options available for luxury chartering in New England.

“We have a great lineup of yachts and a range of fun and informative events that I think both the show attendees and the participating captains and crew will enjoy,” said Newport Exhibition Group Show Director Nancy Piffard.

Kick-starting the festivities is the show’s highly anticipated Welcome Reception on Monday evening, which will take on a Caribbean Carnival theme this year with help from the U.S. Virgin Islands - Department of Tourism. “We are delighted to be a sponsor of the Welcome Reception and first-time exhibitor at this year’s Newport Charter Yacht Show,” said U.S. Virgin Islands Commissioner of Tourism, Beverly Nicholson-Doty. “We were eager to sponsor this event because the USVI and Newport attract such similar visitors, and this will be an excellent opportunity to engage with marine executives, captains, brokers and trade media about this important segment of our Territory. We are looking forward to bringing ‘Virgin Islands Nice’ to Newport."

This weekend, captains and their crews prepped their respective yachts for the busy week ahead and attended the Captain’s and Crew Briefing and Happy Hour sponsored by Newport Shipyard, Engineered Marine Coatings and West Marine Mega Yacht Supply.
On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the ever-popular Yacht Hops will take place, with captains and crews donning costumes to host themed get-togethers with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Throughout the week the show’s Crew Competitions – organized by Captain’s Concierge and sponsored by Crew Food Safety Training, LLC, Culinary Convenience, LLC and DYT Yacht Transport/SevenStar Transportation – will shine a light on the professional crews and private chefs behind these luxury charter yachts, putting their hospitality and culinary skills to the test in a series of contests held throughout the week. Other events promoting friendly rivalry and crew camaraderie are the Pitch-and-Put Golf Competition and the seaHEX Drone Challenge sponsored by seaHEX and Fuerte Amador Resort & Marina.

On Wednesday and Thursday mornings, two Industry-Focused Seminars – one hosted by the American Yacht Charter Association as part of their annual meeting and the other presented by the Newport Charter Yacht Show – will add to the educational component to the show.
