The yachting industry's leading charter show is back in April 2018 to celebrate its 30 year anniversary in style. Once again, the MYBA Charter Show is taking place in OneOcean Port Vell, which has rapidly established itself as a leading superyacht port of call, building on Barcelona's reputation as a cosmopolitan playground and luxury destination.

Three days of yacht showings, socialising and competitions make for a packed and lively schedule against the backdrop of Barcelona's rich artistic, gastronomic and seafaring culture.

Charter brokers and managers relish the opportunity to get onboard yachts that are new to the charter market and those which have undergone refits. But the on-water show is also a special occasion for industry professionals to get together at the beginning of the Mediterranean season. From the opening Quay Party Night on Monday 23rd to the crew party in the small hours of Friday morning, the nightlife and networking will not disappoint.

Among yachts already confirmed for 2018 are the 77m M/Y "Legend", the 52m M/Y "Deja Too", the 47 m M/Y "Blush", the M/Y 45m "Atlantic Goose", the 43m M/Y "Diane" and the 40m M/Y "Giraud". The total overall length of yachts seems set to break last years record of 2437 m.

The MYBA Charter Show continues to be a crucial date in the agenda because it evolves with the industry and leaves its own imprint. The organisers are poised to introduce a number of innovations in 2018 – the first of which is a brand new competition designed to recognise an essential and subtle skill in hospitality - that of making a good first impression! The 'Best Welcome Onboard' award will recognise the professionalism of crew who warmly and smoothly greet the judges, who will be posing as charter guests.

The MYBA Superyacht Chefs' Competition is always a highlight of the show. This year's theme, 'Finger Food', will test the chefs' ingenuity as they strive to pack big flavours into delicate morsels that can be eaten without cutlery. Their sweet and savoury selection will be judged by two Michelin-starred Antonio Mellino, Thierry Blouin of 'La Mère Germaine' in Villefranche, hospitality guru Peter Vogel of the Luxury Hospitality Academy, and rising stars of the Spanish food world who are yet to be announced.

The schedule is completed with crew workshops, seminars, cocktails and the prize-giving ceremony, along with other events which will be announced in the coming weeks.
