Discover all the Sessions Happening at METSTRADE 2022

If there’s one place where you can catch all the marine industry’s innovation and get the latest updates on what’s new and trending, it’s METSTRADE.

Early indicators for the 2022 show are very positive, with 96 per cent of visitors and 90 per cent of exhibitors declaring their intention to return. Marine industry associations are experiencing significant uptake for national pavilions, and METSTRADE is receiving many first-time applications, particularly from electric propulsion and electronics companies.

Here is an exclusive sneak peak of the comprehensive content programme:

Electric aircraft visionary to deliver keynote speech

TED Fellow and ICAS Aerospace Innovation Award recipient, Cory Combs will deliver the Breakfast Keynote Speech at the METSTRADE show on 15 November 2021. Cory’s presentation on how leisure marine can become a model for introducing innovation in sustainability will be followed by the keenly awaited announcement of the 2022 DAME Design Award winners.

The next 30 years of superyachts

Industry leaders, decision-makers and influencers from around the world will assemble for a series of strategic meetings and workshops focused on the overarching theme of ‘Evolve or Repeat’. The theme for the flagship event in Amsterdam marks an evolution of the superyacht industry’s premier educational and networking platform.

This year’s programme will bring together six incredible visionary keynote sessions from technology experts outside of yachting in the world of aerospace, automotive, energy, architecture and future materials. Expect energetic networking sessions, experiential activities, a streamlined, focused programme, and of course the much-missed social programme to celebrate the key milestone of the show’s 30th-anniversary.

The move to electric

Marina consultant Oscar Siches touches upon the hot topic of e-handling and e-boating in this session hosted by Marina World. Is the switch to electric a good move for all our energy needs? And what are the alternatives?

The future of onboard superyacht technology

Clients are demanding more advanced systems onboard of their superyachts, be it on the AV/IT side or propulsion systems. Hosted by SuperYacht Times, this session will discuss what the latest tech developments are, what is being implemented on superyachts today and what the future will look like.

Alternatives to fully electric marine propulsion

Mitigating climate change is a global priority and the marine leisure industry is expected to present ways to reduce carbon emissions. This session brought to you by ICOMIA will explore different energy transition pathways that will be required to reduce future GHG emissions.

Innovation shaping the industry’s future

IBI Editor Ed Slack talks product with this year’s DAME Design Award Winners and discusses how the latest innovation in marine equipment is shaping the future of our industry.
