The start of the Côte d’Azur yacht season kicks off with the Antibes Yacht Show on Wednesday April 23rd.
Situated in the famous Port Vauban, the largest pleasure port and yachting centre in Europe, this year’s show welcomes shipyards for the first time so that they can present their latest models just before the start of the season.
In the seven years since it began, the show has grown in size and last year welcomed over 15,000 visitors from as far afield as China and the US.
Fully dedicated to brokerage and charter of yachts over 20 m, Antibes is also the first meeting point for crew at the beginning of the season.
Several changes look set to make this year’s show the biggest and most successful yet. A revamped Seminar Area has been relocated in front of the largest exhibited yachts at IYCA and a new car park a stone’s throw from the port offers 600 extra spaces.
With Charter as well as Refit and Services onsite offering yacht finance, banking, insurance, provisioning and yacht registration, there will also be many chances to catch up socially with industry insiders.
Dedicated entertaining areas include the Crew Lounge, open from 10am with Happy Hour from 5pm, the Captain’s Lounge on the terrace of Bastion Saint Jaume, reserved exclusively for captains, the Chef’s Lounge offering a range of activities, the Press Lounge with free WIFI and the VIP Lounge.
Social highlights across the four-day show include the Crew BBQ on Wednesday April 23rd with live music and drinks in the IYCA restaurant area, the Captain’s Cocktail Dinner on Thursday April 24th, an elegant sit down event for 200 captains and their guests accompanied by live music, and the Exhibitor’s Cocktail event on Friday April 25th from 7.30pm.
