2021 Gothenburg Boat Show Cancelled

The organisers of the Gothenburg International Boat Show, typically the first of the Nordic boat shows, have cancelled next year’s event. After 61 consecutive years, the show that would have been held in early February will not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jacob Ryder, business manager at the Gothenburg show, said in a statement: “The coronavirus has unfortunately had consequences to an extent that few could have imagined. Based on prevailing circumstances and rules for gatherings, we unfortunately do not see that it is possible to carry out the event. The boat show will instead be arranged 4-13 February 2022.

“Instead of arranging the boat show, we are looking at the possibility of implementing something that has the working name West Coast Boat Week instead. The idea is that we at batmassan.se gather all the own initiatives that the exhibitors will implement instead of the fair in their own activities. Our exhibitors have continued the opportunity to keep their shops and showrooms open and there is plenty of product news to show off in safe ways.

”More information will be presented regularly on the boat show’s website and in our social media, so my recommendation to all boaters on the west coast is to keep an eye out there.”
