Join Ports of Cause for an immersive evening of art, cocktails and conversation in the one-of-a-kind setting of the brownsgrotta arts barn in Wilton, Connecticut. The exhibition will immerse you in the varied and exciting works of Blue/Green: color/code/context, featuring the work of 50 international artists, who use recycled, sustainable materials and innovative techniques, including weavings with LED fibers. There will also be two featured speakers discussing Sustainable Luxury® and the Blue Economy.

Mary Merkel-Hess, one of the exhibiting artists, whose work is featured above, describes how she approached the brief of Blue/Green: color/code/context:

“I don’t usually step out of my own Midwestern environment for inspiration, but for this 'Blue Sea' I did,” Mary Merkel-Hess says of her work for Blue/Green: color/code/context. My husband and I visited the Florida Everglades a few years ago and also traveled along the Keys. I loved seeing a different kind of grassland, a wet one, and I also had opportunities to view the ocean and to study its various colors and moods. The blues of the Atlantic Ocean on one beautiful day came into play for this piece.”
