Yachts du Coeur - From Yachts to Those in Need

Calling on all YPY members, yacht crew and yachting companies! This October, Les Yachts du Coeur return to Cannes as part of their continual effort to redistribute surplus food from yachts to food banks in and around the Riviera. And now it's your chance to get involved!

Since 2010, a staggering 16.4 tonnes of food from superyachts’ seafarers has been collected. The equivalent of 32,800 meals have been re-distributed  to 105 specialized associations, feeding over 25,000 people locally. That’s around €164,000 of food that did not go in the bin!

This has all been as a result of hard work from the association, Eco- Mer, who developed the Yachts du Coeur initiative to combat local poverty and promote environmental sustainability in the Riviera.

Yachts du coeur

This year on Saturday 10th of October in Port Canto Cannes, the Yachts du Coeur will be calling on yachts, industry professionals and local companies for donations in the form of surplus dry and tinned food. We hope to recreate - if not better - the efforts of previous years, where yachts have been very generous in sending tenders and crew members laden with food down to ports along the Riviera.

Young Professionals in Yachting is delighted to be an official partner of the Yachts du Coeur, and we encourage anyone across our network to take part in this fantastic donation drive where possible.

•    Volunteer - Become part of the human chain distributing food from yachts to the Food Bank truck. Great fun and a real spectacle!

•    Donate - encourage your fleet of yachts, company and contacts to bring their yachts and food donations to Port Canto on October 10th. Arrange a space for your yacht here.

•    Make Waves - spread the word to make this the biggest and most successful event yet. Or become a sponsor of such a worthy cause.

YPY - Proud partner of Yachts du Coeur

Yachts du Coeur Event: Saturday 10th October, 9:30am to 5:30pm
Food Chain: Saturday 10th October, starts at 11:00am
Port Pierre Canto, Cannes
