Offical Opening of new Gremco Operations in St Mandrier

January 2016 saw the official opening of the Gremco St Mandrier operation, a brand new, world-class industrial facility located in the harbour area, at the heart of the new Marine Activity Pole of St Mandrier, right at the entrance of the Toulon bay.

The Gremco site is perfectly designed and equipped to provide a complete set of rigging services for  large sailing vessels:

 

• Dedicated mast storage area, just 100 meters from the quay in the new ultra­ modern shipyard IMS  700.

• Dedicated rigging workshop of 380 m2, swaging cables up to 44 mm, cold heading rods from all  major brands, 23 meters of preparation bench, machine shop, customization & repair of mechanical  parts, repair bench for hydraulic equipment & systems, full range of performance ropes from Armare, rope splicing and eather work.

The new site also includes a separate workshop fully dedicated to the installation, testing, maintenance and repair of "Comfort on board.. systems [sanitary and water treatment systems and  on-board electronics) aswellas to Loadtesting& certification:

• Dedicated workshop of 330 m2 with separate test benchfor al types of pumps, test bench for Watermakers and Waste water treatment plants, Furuno centralized monitoring system, test bench for Tecma
sanitation systems.

Complete (and certified) set of equipment [pulling tools, water bags, load cells, harnesses...) for load testing and certification.

History

Founded in Antibes, in 1978, by Didier «Jules» Chauvet Swiss sailor passionate about the art and technique of rigging), Gremco has historically specialized in rigging refits and repairs for large sailing yachts (Le Ponant, Phocea, El Boughaz ...).

Since Olivier Madja [product and market development specialist) joined as Managing Partner in 010, Gremco has also developed a specific range of products and services for Motor achts, gradually entering into two new business segments:

«Comfort on Board» sanitary, water treatment and on-board electronics) and security control of cranes, slings and overboard rails.Today, 92 yachts out of 100 in the world are motor yachts, and the market potential of the latter two activities represents more than 10 times  that of the rigging market.

The acquisition of the Monge operation [After Sales Service partner for Princess Yachts France in the Mediterranean for more than 40 years) in October 2014, has helped Gremco establish a first «Comfort
on board» service partnership with one of he prestigious actors in the yachting field.

The new industrial site of St Mandrier perfectly supplements the technical capabilities and geographical coverage of the Antibes and Mandelieu operations.
