Two motor yachts, BARBIE (52m) and THE ONE 73m (new name Catherina VI) caught fire this morning in Marmaris Marina, Turkey.

The fire started at approximately 02:00am January 4, 2016 on board M/Y THE ONE (73m) - Steel Aluminum 1973  by Lurssen Yachts.

Thirty minutes later the fire spread to the neighbouring yacht – M/Y BARBIE (52m) - GRP / 2006 built in Dubai by Al Jadaf shipyard.

The other neighbouring yachts in the marina escaped and now rest on anchor.
The remains of the fire are still burning and both yachts are at risk of sinking.
The marina and the rescue forces are pumping the water out from both.

Weather condition: strong east southerly winds about 35 knots with heavy rains.

The reason of the fire is still unknown.
