Bilgin Yachts Building Biggest Yachts in Turkey to Date

Following a successful debut of its 47.5 metre Lilium superyacht at Monaco Yacht Show, Bilgin Yachts is now focusing on its biggest projects to date – the largest yachts ever to be built in Turkey. The first two units of the Bilgin 263 series are planned to be launched in 2020, while the shipyard has already started to build a third unit on spec. The latest yachts reflect the shipyard's goal to be one of the most prominent brands in the world.

Standing at 80m in length, Bilgin 263 yachts have sharp exterior lines and stylish interior areas offering a modern feel, while the extensive use of a contrasting combination of rich Macassar ebony, eucalyptus and plenty of marble creates a strong identity and feeling of luxury.

Emrecan Özgün, CEO and the Founder of Unique Yacht Design, comments: "With her design and comfort elements, the Bilgin 263 is truly one-of-a-kind. We created a very attractive yacht with a sleek and sexy profile while avoiding high dosage design clichés. The increase in living areas normally result in bulky designs, yet the Bilgin 263 has a design attitude that will dominate the yachting sector around the world. This will clearly make her a trendsetter among steel-aluminium superyachts of today."

Toby Sturge of H2 Yacht Design added: "The owner was asking for a layout that was unique to his own requirements and one that people would certainly remember and differentiate among many other 80m yachts. As H2 Yacht Design team, we focused on his wishes and turned them into a comfortable, luxurious yet functional interior. Timeless understatement is indeed the recurrent theme on board."

The annoucement of the build of the new Bilgin 263 yachts was announced at MYS 2019 last month where the company was previewing the superyacht Lilium - a stunning example of the shipyard's 47.5 meter motor yacht series, following the highly acclaimed Starburst-III (ex-Nerissa). She was also on show during this year's Festival of Yachting in Cannes, where more than 20 visitors came on board each day of the event. Brokers have also shown special interest in the yacht, praising the interior design and layout.

Lilium is named after the beautiful and fragrant white flower which is reflected throughout in the use of pale colours, golden accents and natural light. A standout feature is the central staircase which radiates daylight from the jacuzzi situated above, a theme continued in the master cabin complete with a skylight and a private balcony.

In contrast to her sister ship's use of bold colours in the living areas, Lilium also features a different layout to the galley, designed to allow the crew to move between service and dining areas more discreetly.

Lilium has a top speed of 20 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles. At 12 knots she consumes 250 litres of fuel per hour, and complies with IMO Tier III certification making her one of the most environmental yachts in her class.
