ACREW Offers a Host of Events for Crew at Monaco Show

ACREW pioneers continue professional development for professional superyacht crew.

ACREW Monaco, held during the Monaco Yacht Show 24-26th September steps up to the challenge of educating, informing and improving the lives of superyacht crew with an expanded range of events and activities including: Knowledge sharing sessions, workshops, networking, hospitality and competitions.

Owners, industry professionals, Captains and Crew will come together to discuss and debate the merits of topical subjects relevant to running and operating a successful superyacht today. The subjects are guided under the skilled hand and expertise of experienced MC’s who will expertly guide the panellists’ debate and discussion.   Delegates will enjoy learning from the professionals on how to best progress their careers within the industry.  

The days kick off with morning yoga on the terrace and fresh juices and French pastries overlooking the bay of Monaco.  Breakfast is the opportunity to network and meet fellow Captains and Crew and industry members before the sessions begin.

Wednesday 24th September opens the knowledge sharing sessions on the subject of Green and Lean. This session focuses on improving superyacht efficiency. We will look at how to reduce the impact yachting has on the environment as well as examining overheads and learning how to apply lean business strategies to make better use of your budget. Lars Lippuneur, Business Development Director (check) of Warsash, the internationally acclaimed training academy will MC the session and Chair the panel.  Time management, and budgeting within refit and efficiency on board are all to be addressed. This is a very current subject not to be missed.

Thursday 25th September, Learning from Superyacht Owners & Business Leaders is led by Sacha Williams , Charter Marketing Director Europe Camper & Nicholsons International. This subject looks at some of the worlds entrepreneurs and superyacht owners who are themselves business pioneers and leaders. What can we learn from them? How can the superyacht sector benefit from turning to look outwards at other industries?  A Superyacht owner leads this debate joined by other professionals in the corporate and superyacht worlds.  A fascinating subject addressing leadership, innovation, professionalism, team building, customer concepts and virtual reality.

And lastly the day of crew recognition, Friday 26th September approaches the subject of Crew As Every Superyacht’s Natural Asset under the leadership of Alison Rentoul, The Crew Coach.  This topic explores management by the captain and heads of departments. We will examine working as a team, communication, safety, crew turnover and recruitment. Your Crew As Your Asset. A topical subject for the Captains and Crew.

Throughout the day there are small focused workshops for Captains and Crew ranging in topics from refit to carpet care to fire fighting, wealth management and social media on board superyachts.

Friday afternoon is Balearics day with a Spanish themed lunch on the terrace and a Balearics update. An informative guide on chartering in the Balearics with particular focus on changes in matriculation tax and superyacht developments in the islands.  

Wednesday evening is the Acrew EventsByZoom and IYC Monaco Kick Off Crew Party at Rascasse. A party theme of GLOW & GLAMOUR so grab your pretty frocks and we’ll provide the glow sticks!
