We're very excited to announce the launch of OnboardOnline, a new and dynamic online portal for yacht crew worldwide!
There was a gap in the market for a comprehensive site where the editorial is industry-led, from people in the job writing on what they know best. Our aim is to bring together the various strands of the yachting industry onto one platform, and to facilitate dialogue in both directions. This is the only interactive site where you can talk directly to peers as well as suppliers to the yachting industry; ask questions and get answers. So, if you have something to say, or if you agree or disagree with something you've read, please get involved. You can post comments or start discussions in the forum or, better still, you can write for us!
There are some excellent crew media already out there, and we have not re-invented the wheel. But we've found our niche by organizing things differently, and bringing the loose ends together in a way that is logical and easy to use. We've currently divided the site into 21 sections, covering everything you'd expect or want, ranging from Command to Crew Management, Engine Room to Shipyard. It's a work in progress and, as we continue to develop the content, please let us know if there's something you'd like us to include.
We'll also be providing you with daily news stories, interviews, industry articles and regular columns from our favourite crew writers. We've also created a useful tools section on the homepage, where you can access information on Currency, Passage Weather, Marine Traffic, Port Finder and real-time Security Intelligence Reports. More to follow. We've included an events page, and designed and built a simple-to-use global Business Directory.
Judging by the fun and enthusiasm we've shared during the development of the site, we're excited to hear what you have to say! You can also visit our Facebook page where we are running a launch competition (with a great prize) to kick things off.
Most of all, we hope you'll find OnboardOnline interesting and useful, and enjoy using the site!
