New Zealand Street will once again return to the Monaco Yacht Show in 2015, with a line up of companies ready to show the strength of New Zealand quality to the wider industry.

Distinctive New Zealand Street will now stretch across the Darse Sud Extérieure area, with companies exhibiting on New Zealand Street including industry stalwart McMullen & Wing, innovative sailmakers Doyle Sails and North Sails and new exhibitors, lead marine apparel company Events Clothing and new exhibitors, Oceanmax.

This year’s Monaco Yacht Show will see 10 companies exhibiting on New Zealand Street, with support from the NZ Marine Export Group. Though there’s been much discussion around the new layout of the Monaco Yacht Show, NZ Marine is pleased to report that though New Zealand’s street’s location has changed, its iconic Destination New Zealand function on Thursday night will return.

The Destination New Zealand function, assisted by Tourism New Zealand and Auckland Events and Economic Development (ATEED) sees international industry attendees mingle on the New Zealand street accompanied by fine New Zealand wines, and is one of the best-attended on the Monaco functions calendar.

Exhibitors on New Zealand Street include a wide range of some of the country’s finest marine companies.

One of two world-class sailmakers exhibiting on New Zealand street Doyle Sails New Zealand is increasingly the choice for performance-focused superyachts. With a product range including their proprietary Stratis sail fibre, including Stratis ICE, the company will also be displaying their groundbreaking new Stratis Sail Art product, which allows photo quality prints to be reproduced onto sails.

The name Harken needs little introduction, having forged a reputation as one of the world’s leading marine hardware and accessories suppliers. The company will be exhibiting products including their new Battcar switch system T-Track which bonds to carbon masts, saving weight and therefore improving performance. Another new product line perfectly suited to the large yacht market is their custom wooden block line, which combines aesthetics with performance to provide a beautiful tailor-made blocks option.

Also exhibiting is Auckland company IMED; showcasing its highly-functional helms designed by an engineer, for engineers, and with all components designed to be replaceable with just one small panel of spares. With their eye-catching helm models proving one of the highlights of New Zealand Street in 2014, IMED is pleased to returning to the show once again.

Southern Spars is back on New Zealand Street, and once again holding its very popular ‘Southern Spars Breakfast Presentation’ at the Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel on Thursday September 24 where the team will showcase new products and technology. This will include the OutClaw outhaul system for large yachts with furling booms and a number of innovations in carbon and other advanced materials rigging. The latter arising from new development work stemming from Southern’s acquisition of Future Fibres almost a year ago.

Building on its reputation for crafting some of the finest yachts in the world, McMullen & Wing has recently developed three new ranges of fully custom yachts between 44 and 58 metres. Working with three of the world’s leading yacht design houses: Holland’s Vripack, Canada’s Greg Marshall and London’s H2 Yacht Design, McMullen & Wing will profile Flow, Diamond and Blade designs at the Monaco Yacht Show with large scale yacht models on display. New construction projects at the yard include their striking 50m Hull 1016, due for delivery in 2016.

MedAire, the industry’s largest network of medical support and professionals, continues to drive its offerings for yachts forwards with the addition of an extended service.  Now offering placement of medical professionals on yachts around the world this new service will meet increased demand for trained medical personnel on board superyachts, particularly in the charter sector. The MedAire team works with yachts to provide yacht medics perfectly suited to each individual yacht’s needs. Other efforts to increase safety at sea include the company’s new MCA-approved eLearning course providing medical training to superyacht crew.

Marine Management Ltd (MML) are specialist marine engineering consultants and project managers, working with large yacht captains and crew to manage their technical requirements - routine or otherwise - throughout the yacht’s life. This through-life asset management means MML has an enduring attachment to the yacht, thereby understanding the unique challenges of each vessel. They then work with yacht management and crew to maximise opportunities within the yacht’s cruising schedule for maintenance, upgrades and surveys through careful planning and the use of global yards.

Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders has been building luxury custom boats for over 30 years, and in recent years has produced top quality superyacht tenders for M/Y Garcon, M/Y Loretta Anne, S/Y Vertigo and S/Y Kokomo. They currently have several large custom tenders in build for international clients and are looking forward to meeting with clients on New Zealand Street at the show.

Agents, Integrated Marine Group will be at the show to guide yachts in planning their Pacific and New Zealand cruises. The team at Integrated Marine Group are renowned for their skill at providing solutions for a yacht’s maintenance and operational needs in one package and have a plethora of successful yacht support work to their name.

Created to coat propellers, Oceanmax’s innovative product Propspeed has been proven on superyachts to improve performance, increase efficiency, and reduce maintenance. The two-part system has been proven on yachts like 42mThe Big Blue, and the team will be on hand at the show to discuss how it can help vessels reach their performance goals.

As well as the 10 exhibiting companies, there will be several more New Zealand companies represented by personnel walking the show. These include 37 South, full service superyacht support provider in the South Pacific, and McConaghy Boats, which opened a New Zealand based arm in 2014 to focus on the design and new construction of superyacht new builds.

This year’s Monaco Yacht Show also marks the first edition of the show since the launch of South Pacific Superyachting. The alliance of Australia, Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand sees the nations working together to promote the region, and easing cruising between the countries.

On site at New Zealand Street will be industry experts to guide you in making the most out of this island nation, for cruising, charter and new build or refit. Representatives from the South Pacific’s premier regatta, the New Zealand Millennium Cup, will also be on hand to help with any enquiries, and Platinum sponsors Orams Marine will also be on hand to talk yachts through New Zealand refits to round out their time in the country.
