Italian Skipper Joins NZ America's Cup Team

Italian Max Sirena has joined the Emirates Team New Zealand as skipper for the 2017 bid for the America's Cup in Bermuda it was announced on Tuesday.

Sirena, 53  skippered the challenging team Luna Rosa during the competition in San Francisco in 2013.

The 35th edition of the historic sailing event began in 1851 and will be held in Bermuda in 2017 after Emirates Team New Zealand handed the trophy to Oracle USA in 2013.
