Radio Holland Wins 35 Vessel Contract with CNCo

Radio Holland, renowned global NavCom and Service Company in the maritime industry, has concluded  a maintenance and remote monitoring agreement with The China Navigation Company (CNCo) for 35 vessels.

Radio Holland already provides CNCo’s newbuild, multipurpose vessels and bulk carriers with NavCom packages. The latest agreement covers the maintenance of this equipment on board 35 vessels. This further cooperation follows a successful remote monitoring pilot project. Radio Holland will now introduce remote monitoring throughout CNCo’s fleet.

Martin Cresswell, Fleet Director, The China Navigation Co Pte, Ltd comments: “The maintenance agreement with Radio Holland has been designed to dovetail with the end of the warranty period for our newbuildings and is a continuation of the excellent cooperation that we have built up over the last few years. The agreement incorporates remote monitoring, which we believe will significantly reduce out of service periods, increasing operational safety.”

David Watts, Radio Holland Commercial Director Asia, explains: “The vessels are placed under a Managed Service Agreement for an unlimited period. These ‘MSAs’ cover all service aspects of the vessel’s equipment and include remote monitoring and diagnostics.  This is a next step in the long relationship between CNCo and Radio Holland.”

Remote Support

“We know the vessels very well and this in turn, means it is much easier to predict possible issues at an early stage. Together we can build a cohesive, full ‘lifetime service history.”

The 24/7 Remote Monitoring services offered through the Managed Service Agreement cut on board maintenance time considerably. “By getting the correct information via a remote connection, Radio Holland can prepare better, analyze the situation accurately and this will lead to highest ‘first time right percentages’. We can offer technical advice and prevent potential unnecessary calls to vessels. Remote monitoring enables us to make a proper diagnosis of the problem.”

Significant savings

Additionally, by Radio Holland engineers testing equipment remotely and verifying data, regulatory and mandatory equipment surveys can be reduced by up to 50%. “On a large fleet of ships , this represents significant savings.”

Nico van Leeuwen, Radio Holland Director Global Sales, comments: “The cooperation with China Navigation through the maintenance agreements fits perfectly in with our strategy of being a full service provider during the vessel’s life cycle. Radio Holland partners with CNCo with the aim to safeguard uptime, availability and functionality. We are proud to be China Navigation’s exclusive NavCom service partner.”
