Yahya Alpaslan Oezdemir 140

Karpaz Gate Marina in North Cyprus has appointed a new chef with a tempting mix of local and international dishes at its stunning Hemingway’s Resto-Bar and Beach Club venues this summer.

At the idyllic coastal destination near Yenierenkoy, Karpaz, guests can enjoy refreshments inside or outside on the promenade at Hemingway’s, or at the Beach Club. Specials for 2018 include grilled octopus, calamari and halloumi, chicken doner kebab and delicious platters and sumptuous deserts, all served with wine by the glass or a cool beer.

Heading up the new menu, Yahya Alpaslan Özdemir brings a wealth of experience in global and traditional cuisine at 5-star hotels and restaurants in Cyprus. Originally from Kahramanmaraş in Turkey, Yahya lives in Ziyamet village in Karpaz with his wife and three children.

“I am very excited to have the chance to work with the great team and management here at Karpaz Gate Marina to present the best artistry, ingredients, flavours and creativity of my profession to our guests. Personally, I am dedicated to developing my vision and following the latest trends and developments in cuisine, while together everyone in the kitchen here is committed to working hard to maintain the highest standards." Yahya said. "It is incredibly rewarding when all the hard work results in dishes that are enjoyed by our guests. It is always a source of joy to offer flavour and happiness to people, and seeing their pleasure is our big prize.”

Yahya was first inspired by his family's own restaurant and went on to study and work in a range of renowned kitchens. “I use my five senses when preparing food, carefully choose ingredients and use the correct techniques to make fabulous dishes,” he said.

A Stress Free Destination for Superyachts

Award-winning Karpaz Gate Marina is a luxurious Mediterranean destination offering premier berthing for yachts and superyachts, without the bureaucracy and taxation issues on the rise in other regions.

As the first modern marina in northern Cyprus, Karpaz Gate Marina is also flexible on duration of stay. Designed to meet the needs of boat and yacht owners, the 5 Gold Anchor-rated marina is safe, service-orientated and community-minded, offering exceptional value for money.

Located on the northern shore of the Karpaz Peninsula in North Cyprus, the vision at Karpaz Gate is to attract visitors to the less travelled areas of the Eastern Mediterranean, steering development of the region to become a leading yachting and tourist destination.

The marina is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches, coves and bays along the north east coast, with Famagusta (67nm) and Girne (48nm) just a short sail away. The nearby southern Turkish coastline includes the marinas of Alanya, Antalya, Marmaris and Bodrum. Rhodes, the gateway to the Greek Islands, is just under 300 nautical miles away.

Karpaz Gate Marina has already won a number of awards including The Yacht Harbour Association’s (TYHA) 2017 International Marina of the Year, achieving TYHA’s top rating of 5 Gold Anchors in July 2013 and the ICOMIA Clean Marina standard in July 2013.

Managed by Sea-Alliance Group, Karpaz Gate is also a member of ICOMIA Marinas Group (IMG) and is featured in ‘Destinations’, a network of exclusive marinas established by ART Marine Marinas.
