Andy Crawford Appointed CEO of the PYA

The PYA Council and Executive have begun a process of modernisation and restructuring of the PYA (Professional Yachting Association) based on the recommendations of a Management Review authored by Captain Andy Crawford AFNI, Business Manager for IAMI (International Association of Maritime Institutions). Among other responsibilities, IAMI manages the Large Yacht Examination system.

Ahead of the implementation of the new management structure (subject to members' votes at the EGM on 29 March), Andy has been appointed to the new role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the PYA for the remainder of this year, with a review in December. His considerable experience as a Ship Master, Marine Pilot and senior manager will be invaluable as he leads the PYA through this period of transition.

Andy will have delegated responsibility from the proposed Board of Directors (currently the Executive and PYA Council) to handle the day to day running of the PYA, supported by our dynamic team in the PYA office in Antibes. As CEO, he will be a member of the Board and will report on operational and management matters.
