    NIPI, as the name suggests, is a smart portable cooler but it’s also energized by solar panels. The idea came about on a boating trip, with the need for something to keep drinks cold, charge mobile phones and also keep belongings safe, but it also had to be mobile and look as good as the other accessories on board.

    Boutique charter company, Burma Boating, has added four new yachts to its fleet, including 40m sailing yacht Clan VI, the company's new flagship. From October, Clan VI will cruise Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago, one of Asia's relatively unexplored destinations which is slowly opening up to tourism.

    According to Italian newspaper, La Nazione, the former CEO of Privilege Yachts, Mario La Via, is now under house arrest as part of an investigation into the collapse of the Italian yard last year. Finance director Antonio Battista has also been arrested.

    OneOcean Port Vell in Barcelona has opened a new fuel station for yachts visiting the marina. The new state-of-the-art fuel station is open from today and offers 24h service for yachts up to 50m. Larger yachts can refuel at berth and duty-free fuel is available for those meeting requirements.
