The organizers of the 2013 Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), held November 19-21 at the Amsterdam RAI, have reported record attendance of over 20,000 industry professionals for this year's show.

Here are comments about METS 2013 from several clients of Home Port Marine Marketing (the global marine products promotion and publicity consultancy) who were exhibitors at the show.

Bob Fils, CEO, marine audio products manufacturer Aquatic AV - "The customers this year were more engaging. We seem to get more inquires and responses than previous shows. It will still take us time to evaluate how well the show did for us. The attendance was a lot stronger on the first day compared to last year. Although I thought the second day was not as strong and the last day was very weak as usual."

Brian Kane, Director of Research and Development, security, monitoring and tracking systems supplier GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies) - "METS 2013 was a tremendous success for GOST. We met many new international dealers as well as caught up with many existing partners to show our new products. Now, our only problem is finding the time to do all the following up."

Bill Arwood, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, exhaust systems manufacturer Centek Industries - "METS this year was really good for us. Wednesday was very busy with a mix of distributor partners and builders stopping by to discuss new projects. The key benefit that we get out of METS is that all of our international partners attend and we get to spend time with them that we would not otherwise get, unless we travel all over the world seeing each individually."

Kent Thaler, Marketing Director, Bad Elf®, supplier of economical GPS accessories for Apple iOS products - Bad Elf had a successful showing at METS. We introduced the Bad Elf GPS for Lightning Connector to the marine market, met many new potential foreign distributors and discussed our plans for bringing NMEA data to the iPad in 2014."

Brian Raine, Managing Director, Tides Marine International, manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of products - "METS 2013 was highly successful for Tides Marine, with a large number of positive new enquiries made at the show. Our new products were well received and new business has already been achieved."
