WSA partners with MedAire for onboard medical training

Warsash Superyacht Academy and MedAire, an International SOS company, are proud to announce they have entered into a collaborative partnership for the benefit of superyacht crew and shore-side staff around the world.

Developed by medical experts who understand remote medical care and applicable maritime regulations, MedAire’s MCA-compliant onboard medical training will be offered to students of the Warsash Superyacht Academy.

The onboard medical training will be complemented by on-campus medical programs offered by Warsash Superyacht Academy, and align with MedAire’s overall health and travel safety assistance services available at sea.

Warsash Superyacht Academy is a venture from Warsash Maritime Academy and Southampton Solent University. The Academy is the only centre of its kind, offering a comprehensive range of entry level, advanced and managerial courses for deck, engineer and interior crew, as well as shore-side staff.  The Academy brings together some of the most renowned and innovative maritime companies and organisations in their respective fields, including Burgess, MedAire, Regs4Yachts, Viking Recruitment Ltd, wilsonhalligan and Interior Yacht Services.

Leveraging their partners’ respective expertise, Warsash Superyacht Academy aims to set new standards in education and training to meet the requirements of the luxury yacht sector and develop its future leaders.  By combining resources, facilities, knowledge, research and experience, Warsash is uniquely placed to develop new and improved services and approaches to ensure that superyacht owners and operators are able to run their businesses as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Warsash Maritime Academy has been teaching Maritime First Aid and Medical Care at Sea since 1947.
