Winners: 6th Annual Fort Yachtie Da International Film Festival


 The 6th Annual Fort Yachtie Da International Film Festival Awards Ceremony was held at the Cinema Paradiso November 16th from 7:00PM – 1:00AM. Attendance was over 300 which included the contest’s film producers, captains, crew, yacht owners, yachting industry company owners and their guests.

The contestants compete from all over the world for cash prizes and an Oscar Fish trophy in 8 categories. This year over 4,000 people watched and weighed in their opinion including the public, sponsors, and a panel film industry judges.  This year’s winners are: Rory Gillianders – Best Overall, CJ Coetze - Action, Andy Lauer - Comedy, Kelly Esser – Yachtie Lifestyle, Whitney Fair – Best Female Actress, Calvin Sanabria – Best Male Actor, Michael Lewington – Best Original Screenplay and Scott Newson- Best Production Quality

fort yachtie da film festivalThe event was supported by over 30 companies this year which included sponsors, advertisers and donations for the charity fundraiser. The designated charity this year was The Marine Industry Cares Foundation and in total the event raised over $1000.00 for the organization through a charity raffle and collecting donations.

This events underlying goal is to support yacht crew with a creative outlet, one that they can work on together as a team in a healthy competitive nature, helping them to form a stronger bond with one another, and ideally, stay happy with their yacht's program longer.
