The Cannes Yachting Festival is held from 6-11 September in the elegant surroundings of the Bay of Cannes, heralding the start of the Autumn boat show season
Around 600 boats are displayed in water and on land, with around one hundred world premieres and the opportunity to arrange sea trials during the show.
New for 2016:
This year the Cannes Yachting Festival is launching 'La Terrace' adjacent to the Festival beach, a new area devoted entirely to luxury brands. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore luxury brands and new products across a range of sectors including automobiles, watches, jewellery, table arts, leather goods, design, wines, spirits and more.
With panoramic views over Le Vieux Port and the Bay of Cannes, La Terrace will also house a VIP lounge and golfing space where visitors can enjoy 20-minute sessions hitting biodegradable balls right into the ocean!
Also new this year, Porsche is the official partner and carrier of the Cannes Yachting Festival. With values in common, Porsche was the obvious partner for this event, bringing together the best in yachting and automobiles for the show's visitors and exhibitors.
Concours d'Elegance Returns for a Second Year
Following its launch last year, the Cannes Yachting Festival’s Concours d’Elégance is a unique spectacle of rare vintage and modern day boats. This year’s event will take place in the Vieux Port alongside the VIP pontoon and the Festival’s beach area on Thursday 8th September at 5pm.
Exclusively open to exhibitors, owners and collectors of motorboats and day-boats under 12m, the event will be a rare occasion to admire the finest classic yachts as well as the latest releases on display at Cannes Yachting Festival. The list of participating boats will be announced in late August following pre-selection.
The jury, presided over by the president of Cannes Yachting Festival, Mrs Annette Roux will consider the quality of restoration, the boat's history, the rarity of the model and the elegance of the crew, and the awards ceremony will be held at the VIP Club from 7pm on Thursday evening.
Participation is free and you can register online on the Cannes Yachting Festival website.
Studio Harcourt Paris, photographer to the stars since 1934, will be at the show this year offering visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to have their own Harcourt Paris signed portrait created.
