Work is underway at Rybovich yard as M/Y Aviva, an 68m Abeking and Rasmussen super yacht, receives a full hull wrap.  The project is on schedule for completion at the end of February before making its way back for the Mediterranean season.

“Justyn and the team are putting forth a good effort and it is obvious he knows the process….there is a lot of interest in this job.  I have given three Captains and two Owners a tour of the work who are serious about considering wrapping for their next job.  We need a quote for the complete superstructure for next year.”  captain, MY Aviva

"I believe the new Farben foils and films offer a superior finish to what's currently on the market.  We are excited to be working on this project and hope it gives confidence to other Captains and owners to come forward and discover the benefits of using Färben products too" comments Greg Hoar, Director, Wild Group.

Aviva (formerly Aviva III) is a 68m motoryacht, custom built in 2007 by Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder (Germany). She was refitted in 2012 by Palumbo Superyachts Refit yards.

MY Aviva has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure with a beam of 12.30m (40'4"ft).  She is now in Rybovich which is reowned for it's fantastic facilities.

PROJECT DETAILS

The captain researched various methods of finishing and discovered that by using foils and films the project timescale would be significantly reduced.

The decision was made to opt in favour for foils and films following a visit to the Monaco show where the client was able to see up close the quality and finish on a couple of similar large projects completed earlier last year by Wild Group.

A team of WG skilled installers were flown out to Miami where the project is expected to complete by the end of February, taking approximately three weeks from start to finish.

The advantages of a simpler application means there is less labour time and cost as well as less time in the yard.  The specific marine foils used have been colour matched to Awlgrip battle ship grey by Färben foils and films.

Färben and WG have been working together and just recently launched the new tougher, stronger and glossier films specifically for the marine market.
